About The Coffee Shed

The Coffee Shed is a business partnership of people with intellectual disabilities who are using talents they have developed to create employment for themselves.

We sell delicious baked goods and sandwiches made by Lemon & Allspice Cookery, a similar business partnership. Also on our menu are beverages, snack foods and wonderful organic, fair trade coffee. We have an extensive catering menu available for meetings and special events.

The Coffee Shed has three locations: Coffee Shed one, Surrey Place Centre in downtown Toronto; Coffee Shed Two, Wetmore Hall in University of Toronto; and The Coffee Shed at JVS Toronto, a career and employment organization located at Dufferin and Lawrence.

Our business is supported by Common Ground Cooperative and the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services.

About Our Food

Our baked goods and sandwiches are made by Lemon & Allspice Cookery, a food catering service operated by people with intellectual disabilities.

The cookery produces foods in a commercial kitchen in Toronto. Food products are sold both wholesale and retail. Lemon & Allspice Cookery also provides catering for business meetings and community events. For more information, call 416-686-1906.

About Our Coffee

Organic Fair Trade Coffee is grown using methods that support the worker and the environment. Workers growing the coffee are paid a fair price for their produce. This means they have the resources to develop their communities while using farming practices that sustain the land. Organic Fair Trade Coffee is grown without pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers.
